Julian Nagelsmann to Become Germany's Next Manager
Bundesliga Champion Bayern Munich's Current Manager Set to Take on New Role
German Football Association and Nagelsmann Reach Agreement in Principle
Julian Nagelsmann has agreed to become Germany's next manager, according to a report from Sky in Germany. The current Bayern Munich manager has reportedly reached an agreement in principle with the German Football Association (DFB) to take over the role after the 2022 World Cup.
Nagelsmann has been one of the most highly-rated managers in world football since guiding Hoffenheim to the Bundesliga top four in 2017/18. He then moved to RB Leipzig, where he won the DFB-Pokal in 2021 and led the club to the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2020.
Nagelsmann took over at Bayern Munich in the summer of 2021 and has won the Bundesliga title in his first season in charge. He has also led Bayern to the semi-finals of the Champions League this season.
The DFB is reportedly keen to appoint Nagelsmann as the successor to Hansi Flick, who stepped down as Germany manager after the 2022 World Cup. Nagelsmann is seen as one of the most promising young managers in the world and the DFB believes he has the potential to lead Germany to success at future tournaments.
