A multistate outbreak of Salmonella infections has been linked to cucumbers, and the FDA and CDC are investigating.
Two Growers Implicated
The FDA has identified two growers whose cucumbers have been implicated in the outbreak:
- Andrew & Williamson Fresh Produce
- Dole Fresh Vegetables
Symptoms of Salmonella Infection
Symptoms of Salmonella infection can include:
- Fever
- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Abdominal cramps
Prevention
To prevent Salmonella infection, wash your hands thoroughly before and after handling food, and wash all fruits and vegetables thoroughly.
Recall Information
Cucumbers from Andrew & Williamson Fresh Produce and Dole Fresh Vegetables have been recalled. Consumers who have purchased cucumbers from these growers should not eat them and should return them to the store for a full refund.
